Color Poems

As part of our Native American unit, we learned about the pottery that Native Peoples created from the Earth's resources. We decorated our posts using chalk. Each child picked a color that was special for them. They learned to use different pressures when crawing to create various shades of their color.

Below are the poems we wrote. They are in the shape of a diamond. The format is as follows:

1st line: color
2nd line: something that is that color
3rd line: describing words for that object
4th line: how the color makes them feel
5th line: color repeated.
