Author Studies

Hooray for Author Studies!

I have found that a favorite way for children to become immersed with reading and language arts is through author studies. Children are able to explore a variety of genres from fantasy to non-fiction. It allows children the opportunity to interact with texts in a variety of ways. They make connection from text-to-text, and text-to-self. They learn to view authors as ìreal peopleî not just names on a title page of a book. The hard part is choosing which to use as a focus because there are so many wonderful authors in childrenís literature.

Some of My Favorites

The following links are to pages I've made for several of my personal favorite author studies.
