Take a mighty leap and hop on into our 2009-2010 1st Grade class. I'm just WILD about 1st grade! It is a wonderful year filled with many changes and unbelievable growth. The following information will get you and your child started on this wonderful adventure into learning!

School Supplies: Everyone should have all of their necessary supplies by Friday, Aug. 28th. If your child runs on low on anything I'll keep you informed. Supply List

School Hours: School begins at 8:40 and day ends at 3:00, 2:00 on Wednesday. Your child should not be at school earlier than 8:15 unless they attend extended day.

Homework: Homework is sent home each Monday, and is due by Friday of the same week. Some exceptions might be family projects that could take longer.

Organizational Notebooks: I've used these wonderful organizational tools in the past and know they will prove to be invaluable for each child and family. These notebooks are 1 in binders that are designed to help your child become more organized and responsible. It will also ensure that parents receive all homework assignments, notes, and graded papers. Parents are expected to check the binders each night with your child. Binder Details

Snacks: We will have a snack everyday from 9:30-9:40. Each child is responsible for their own healthy snack. I will have extra snacks on and the first week of school.

Birthdays: If you wish to send in a special treat for your child to share with his/her classmates that will be fine. Let me know in advance so that we can make sure we are prepared. Also, I do have a Happy Birthday take home bag that will go home with each child the week of their birthday. It contains books to read at home, a journal to write about their special day. There are also a couple of treats for them to keep.
