Story of the Week:  Emerald’s Egg 

Skill of the week: Author’s Purpose & Plot and Conflict

Vocabulary Words:

Comprehend: to understand something

 

Pliable: something is easy to move or bend

 

Solitary: to live alone most of the time

 

Scan: to look over carefully for a specific thing

 

Vulnerable: a person or animal that is weak and unprotected

 

Exuberant: full of excitement, energy and happiness

 

Mature: a person or animal that is fully grown or behaves like an adult

 

Lumbers: to move in a slow and clumsy way

 

Encircle: to surround it

 

Nurture: caring for a living thing when it is growing and developing

 

Accelerated Reader: Please complete the Reading log assigned for homework. We are almost finished with Me and the Pumpkin queen.

Math: This week we will start working with graphing. This week we will focus on Pictographs and Line Plots.

Writing: We will be reviewing and revising our Turkey stories. They are coming out fabulous!

Core Knowledge:    We started our unit on Weather and will be learning about the water cycle and different types of storms.

Science Fair:

Projects are due on Nov. 16th. Hope thye are coming along smoothly. Any questions? Please ask.

Homework (Due on Friday)

AR: Read15-30 min. each night. Log your books in your AR LOG.

Math: Pictographs and Line Plots

 

Reading: Reading Packet. Read and answer the questions. Go back and underline the answers.

Spelling: Practice sheet

Science: Work on Science Fair Project
