Saint Project November first (All Saints Day) is just around the corner. This time of year is a wonderful time to remember and learn about the lives of the saints. Our fourth grade class will be completing a saint project over the next few weeks. Please follow the steps for this project listed below. 1. Students use resources to research saints and choose a saint to do their report on. (Students may use books, the internet, or other resources to find out about the different saints; I have some wonderful saint links on our classroom web site http://www.teacherweb.com/fl/saintthomasaquinasschool/mrscox ). 2. Students must print out or take notes on information found about the saint that they chose. 3. Students must use the information found to complete the outline on the saints. 4. Students use the information on the outline to write a rough draft of the saint report. (All rough drafts must include at lease five paragraphs with five sentences each) 5. Parent Assist the child in editing the report for a final draft. 6. Students type a final draft of the report (again all reports must include five paragraphs). 7. Students make a model of the saint. Students may use the following to make their saint model. (All models must include a face and a body dressed in clothes that the saint would have worn) a. Make a model out of pipe cleaners b. Make a saint model out of clay c. Dress up a doll as a saint d. Make a saint model out of Styrofoam balls. e. Students make a life sized poster of their saint f. Students may choose any other way to depict their saint. 8. All saint projects are due by Friday, October 31, 2008 9. Students may dress up as their saint on October 31, 2008 for extra credit. Students must come to school in their saint costume and bring their school uniform to change into after our saint reports.
