FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
Homework is given out on Friday and due back the following Friday. If you finish the homework early, keep it in your folder until Friday as they will be checked at the end of the week (unless it is a big project-I will have a place in the classroom to hold those until sharing). Homework will be included in your work habits grade on your report card. Can you have water bottles in class? Yes. Send in a disposible water bottle for the week and your child can refill it as needed. Take it home on Fridays, send in a new one on Monday. Any water bottle left on Fridays will be thrown away- if disposible. If you place your water bottle in your backpack, please be aware that if there is a spill, you are ultimately responsible to pay for or replace any library books that become damaged. Can I bring my child to class in the morning? I aks that after the first week of classes that you start to give your child the responsibilty of getting to class on their own and unpacking their belongings. If you allow your child to become independent and successful with the small tasks, when they are asked to do things they have never done before, they are not as reluctant. So...after the first week, your child should be comfortable enough to get settled in the morning. What if I have something to tell the teacher? If you have something important to tell me about your child, please send a note in their folder, leave a message on my voice mail, set up a conference before school hours or after- in advance, or email me with your comments, questions, or concerns. Having a discussion about your child as the class is entering the room in the morning in not the ideal time to have a mini conference. I am helping students start their day and have counts to turn in on time. I will get back to you within a timely manner whether it be during my lunch, planning time, or after school. Thank you. Please do NOT send your child to school sick! If you have had to give your child motrin or tylenol before school, they are not well enough to be in class. Sending your sick child will infect the rest of the class, your teacher, and other children. Call the school to report that your child is sick. In severe cases, such as hospitalizations, family emergencies, death of family members, please contact my voice mail. Your family is important to me! What if I forget to turn in the homework? Please send it in the following day. Better late, than never! What if I have dismissal changes? Please write a note and place it in the communication folder. I check these quickly in the morning for dismissal changes and lunch money. If you should need to change the way your child goes home after you have sent them to school, call the office to make the changes. Please do not call after 2:00pm. |
