Handy Words- Fry's

Fry's Sight Words

These are the words that can be found most frequently in texts written for children.

For the most part these words do not follow a phonics pattern. So they must be memorized.

Children will be learning how to read and write these words throughout the year.

They will be part of our spelling and fluency exercises.

Practice, practice, practice, makes for better readers and writers !

List of Second Hundred Words 200

We will be tracking Fry's Sight Words. However, here are some resources with the Dolch Sight Words. Both lists are very similar. Both are a list of sight words commonly used in children's books. I chose to track Fry's words because much research supports the use of this list. Also, the resources that support it are wonderful. Nevertheless, I've posted the Dolch Words for your viewing pleasure.
