Helpful Tips

1. EMPTY backpack and folder daily. Look at all papers. Talk with your
child about the work.

2. HAVE YOUR CHILD READ TO YOU for 10 minutes daily. Both you and your child will enjoy
the closeness of a good book. This will also prepare the child for formal
reading and listening later.
3. REINFORCE skills at home. PRACTICE what is being taught at school!

4. EARLY BEDTIME children this age are still growing. They need a good
night’s sleep. 8:00 pm is a good recommended time for a Kindergarten child.

5. EAT a good nutritious breakfast. This truly does give the child a “head”
start on the day’s activities.

6. BE ON TIME EACH MORNING. Class begins at 8:15. A gentle beginning to the day prepares the
child for learning.

7. SIGN AND RETURN all forms promptly.

8. COMMUNICATION CLEARS CONFUSION. Please send a note regarding
concerns or questions.

9. LISTEN TO AND ENJOY YOUR CHILD.

10. GIVE LOTS OF PRAISE AND ENCOURAGEMENT! It creates a happy and secure
child.
