This is going to be an exciting week in kindergarten! In social
studies, we are going to be reading Little House In The Big Woods. The
children will learn about the Ingalls family, a late 1800's pioneer family.
We will recreate life in the time of covered wagons. They will see what life
was like on the trail, and the hardships they encountered as they crossed the
United States from Wisconsin to Kansas. We will be making butter the way the
pioneers did, and learning to play hopscotch. This project will go on for
several weeks as we read through the books.
I have sent home the Flat Stanley dolls along with the letters to be
mailed out. Please try to get them in the mail as soon as possible. The
children are very anxious to see where their Stanley will travel to.
On Tuesday, Valentine's Day the children can wear a red or pink top to
school along with their uniform pants or skirt. Thank you for signing up for
the party.
Thursday is our field trip. Please remember to dress your child in
their yellow Star Child Academy shirt that day.
School will be closed next Monday. As always the after school program
will be available to you if needed.
I am looking forward to an exciting week!
