Association (MENC) and Florida Vocal Association (FVA). Mr. Armbrister serves as District 15
Chairman for Broward County and has served a FVA Coordinator for District 15 (Broward County).
Mr. Armbrister became the Chorus Director of Stoneman Douglas High in
August, 2001. His professional experience began with him leading the Piper
High School Chamber Women to a 2001 FVA State "Excellent" rating.
Later, he guided the Stoneman Douglas High School Eagle Singers to a 2003 and 2010
FVA State "Superior" rating and received accolades for
Douglas' three 1st place finishes at the Music USA Festival in March
2007. His efforts also earned the Douglas Chorus a "Silver" rating at the first appearance at the
South Star Music Festival in Atlanta, GA.
In addition to years of guiding students to the Florida All-State Honors Chorus and Florida Music
Performance State Assessment, Mr. Armbrister also works as Audio Visual Coordinator at Fifth
Avenue Church of God Temple in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The Stoneman Douglas Chorus is devoted to the study of music, vocal
techniques and ensemble skills. Students will be exposed to a variety of
music literature, including many different styles and cultures. The goals of
our choral ensembles, through rehearsal and performance, are to achieve a
high degree of learning and performance excellence, develop a love,
understanding and appreciation of music and learn the skills and concepts
necessary to successfully participate in a vocal ensemble. It is the
responsibility of both the director and the ensemble members to be prepared
for each rehearsal and to put forth their best effort at all times.
