WHAT WILL WE BE LEARNING AND DOING IN CLASS THIS WEEK?
Report Cards should be going home on February 8
Make sure that students have all their supplies this is the time to replenish any of their supplies. Students have been not been completing homework, please emphasize the importance of the homework.
Don't forget to send in the money for our book order we will be ordering the books by Friday.
Afterschool tutoring: Monday and Thursday for Reading.Tuesday for Math.
Spelling/Voc - Students can log into http://www.spellingcity.com/sunny-isles-beach-community-school-sunny-isles-beach-fl.html at this site students can play games and do activities with their spelling/vocabulary words.
Students were given a username/password for www.ticketoread.com and www.fcatexplorer.com, we are using these program in school but students are also asked to log in from home at least twice a week.
READING :
Identify and explain the elements the story structure, including character/character development, setting, plot, and problem/resolution in a variety of fiction)Ongoing Objective: Determine explicit ideas and information in grade level text including but not limited to main idea, relevant supporting details, strongly implied. Students are required to complete their Spelling contract. Reading Log are to be kept on a daily basis. Please help your child complete all of their assignments.
* Students received their AR books they will need to read the books and be prepared to take an AR test. They will need to earn 8 -10 points every nine weeks.
MATH:
Students will be able to write fractions and decimals in tenths, and hundredths, Students will be able to read, write and indentify, decimal notation in the context of money.
SCIENCE: Students will be able to identify basic forms of energy, they will be able to cite examples as demonstrating kinetic or potential energy, identify situations where kinetic energy is transformed into potential energy and vice versa and finally be able to illustrate the use of various forms of energy in daily life.
Social Studies: Students will be able to understand how to use a number and letter grid to find a specific location on a map. Students will be able to describe the effects of physical processes in shaping the landscape, and be able to understand the different kinds of changes affect the earth.
