Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday! Happy New Year to all!! Thanks to all for the gifts, cards and well-wishes!!! My Resolution is to update the website more frequently, with pictures, information and activities!!! See you next year!!!

***Congratulations to our class Science Fair Winners, Nick M., Isaac F., Scarlett L, and Daniel R. Also, special congratulations to Nick M. and Scarlett L, who won the School Science Fair with 1st and 2nd place, respectively!!! Great work! The winning students will have their projects sent to the Miami Dade County Public School Elementary Science Fair in March.
*** We have taken the reading and science Interim Assessments. We will be taking the Math Interim Assessment on Wednesday, January 6th. Please have your student in school and ready to go on that day! Thanks!
*** Upcoming PTA announcements will be forth coming once the New Year rolls around.
***We are still collecting funds via adoptaclassroom.org. Thanks to those who have donated! We are getting close to ordering!
***Please ensure that all of the students have their supplies!! Some students need to be replenished!!!
*** Many of our students have been sick in the past few weeks. We have been cleaning and washing hands ALL DAY LONG!! Please continue healthy habits at home to keep our student healthy! Remember to keep your child home if they have a fever and/or are not feeling well enough to do work. It seems to be getting better.
Class Announcements:
** We will be reading a new book in January entitled, Peter and the Starcatchers written by: Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. The students need this book when they come back in January.
** Students need to be working on FCAT Explorer. They have until March 1st to complete both Math and Science sections.
**During the Winer Break, Students have been assigned some activities. The mandatory activity is to read one complete AR book that is worth 6 or more points. They will be tested as soon as they return. Also remember they need to have earned 20 or more points in the 2nd grading period, in order to recieve an "A" for AR. The grading period ends on January 21st.
** Students have been given an extra credit assignment for the break. they must complete both parts in order to recieve it. They have a Math Challenge assignment and a science lab to complete. Please have your child complete these tasks if they want an extra credit to be used at the end of the nine weeks.
** Students have been assigned the Biome Project. Please have them show you the project so you can discuss it. It is due on January 27th.
**Continue working on AR and READ! Big Congratulations go to Isaac F!! He has earned 209.8 AR points as of this time!!! That is outstanding!!! We also have Tom J., with 141.7 points, Rafaela M., with 109.8 points, Nick M., with 109.6 points, Danielle O., with 106.3 points, and Felipe with 105.0 points. Amazing!!! Keep up the great work!
