My name is Kelli Nieblas and I am excited to be a part of the Sunny
Isles Beach Community K-8 Staff! I have been teaching for the last 8 years.
Last year, I was lucky enough to be part of the inaugural staff here at Sunny
Isles! Previously, I taught at RKB Bay Harbor Elementary. I have taught many
different grades and levels throughout my years. I began in second grade, then
moved to fourth grade for two years. I remained in fourth grade and worked in
the inclusion classroom. The following year, I looped with my inclusion
students to fifth grade. The next year, I moved to fifth grade Gifted. I
looped with those students and taught the entire sixth grade Science. Last
year, I taught the fifth grade Gifted class. It's overwhelming to think that I
have taught in all these different scenarios, but
I've enjoyed every minute of it. This year, I am excited to return to the
Gifted fifth grade!
Professionally, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with ESOL
and Gifted Endorsement. I also have a Master's Degree in Reading Education,
both from FIU. During the 2005-2006 School year, I was named Miami-Dade
County's Inclusion Teacher of the Year!!
Personally, I have two sons! Logan who is almost 4 and Dylan who is 1 1/2!
My mission for the class, as it always is, is to encourage the students to be
responsible, young adults. At this time in their lives, they need to learn to
be responsible for their own actions, in school and out of it. They need to
lean less on their parents and move towards depending on themselves to
complete assignments, study for tests and remember projects. Besides doing
well in class, I expect them to set high standards for themselves and
accomplish the goals that they wish to achieve.
