I Love You Poems

How would you express yourself if you had to use "specific words" symbolism and colors to describe your feelings? My students read the book, "I Love You the Purplest" by Barbara M. Jossee. It is a beautiful picture book about a mother that expresses her love for her two sons with bright different heart warming words using vivid word choice and description.

These poems were written by my students (and me) and dedicated to a very special person in their lives:

Mrs. Raude
Dedicated to: Amanda and Brandon (my children)

I love you the reddest...
I love you the color of a crimson Valentines Day heart,
created with loving hands.
I love you the color of a bright brick red fire truck,
rushing out of the fire station, echoing
its loud distinctive screaming sound announcing to everyone its arrival.
The flame of a crackling red fire
The silky feel of a scarlet rose petal
The sweet tantalizing taste of a juicy cherry.

I love you the color of a leaf before fall blows it away.
I love you the color of a dazzling emerald, strong and proud of its appearance, waiting to be given away.
