CANADIAN GRAND BANKS FLOW CHART
Due Date: Wednesday, October 7th
(May be turned in on Monday, October 5th
for Extra Credit points to be awarded—“1” Day ONLY!!)
This Creative Long term Assignment (CLA) is a simple, pictorial flow
chart (Estimated time to complete: 1-2 Hours). It must contain “7” printed
out pictures. The pictures must have a caption of at least “3” sentences (per
each picture), and these are to explain the pictures. You must then organize
the pictures into a creative, unique, flow chart format and display them on a
Poster Board. (Samples were shown in class.) PICTURES are as follows:
1. An UNDERWATER picture of the Grand Banks showing the marine life that
lives there.
2. Industrial fishing boats before they catch any fish.
3. An actual industrial fishing expedition taking place with fish being
pulled out of the Grand Banks.
4. At least 3 kinds of fish found living in the Canadian Grand Banks waters
(that are fished commercially by large fishing boats). You may cut and paste
pictures together to form "1."
5. Captured fish that is displayed at the market and ready to be purchased by
consumers.
6. A picture showing a family/couple/individual enjoying a meal of fish as
they eat around a table. If you are having trouble finding a picture, grab a
camera and take a photo of your own family--BUT, no Filet of Fish McDonald's
sandwiches!!!
7. A MAP showing the Canadian Grand Banks region. (IN your caption be sure to
give the relative location of the Canadian Grand Banks and the reason why it
is such a great resource for the fishing industry.
ACTUAL POSTER GRADING:
A. A Title (Fishing in the Canadian Grand Banks) creatively shown (5 points)
Note you are not allowed to directly write on the board.
B. Be CREATIVE when you show the connectors of the Flow Chart (25 points).
Remember class examples, BUT do not copy them!!! NO regular, drawn lines or
arrows can be used!!!
C. C (SEE) that each picture is shown, has at least 3 sentences caption, and
words are spelled correctly (7x10=70 points).
