Choose an activity from List 1 or List 2.
List 1
1.ABC order
2.Rainbow Words-write words in one color, then trace over them in two
additional colors.
3.Pyramid Words- Write words adding one letter at a time. The result
will be a pyramid. Ex. c

4.Cut & Glue Words- Cut out letters from the newspaper or magazines
by gluing letters to a sheet of paper.
5. Either/Or- Write your words once with your right hand and once
with your left hand.
6. Color code words- Copy each word, writing the vowels in blue and
consonants in red.
7. Size it up- Write the words in three sizes (large, medium and
small)
8. Reversed words- Write the words in ABC order, starting from the
back of the alphabet.
9. Words in words- Write your words one time, next to each word two
little words you find in the word. No scrambling! (ex. television=
is, on)
10. Computer spelling-Type your words two times using different
fonts, sizes, and/or color. (NOTE: Students should do the typing
themselves.)
11. Word Magic: Write your words one time, then write it again
leaving the first letter out, then without the second letter and so
on until the word disappears; continue with all the words. (ex. cat, -
at, -t, -)
12. Shortest to longest: Count the number of letters in each word,
then write the words in order from shortest to longest.
