Leadership criterion is considered highly important for membership selection.
The Faculty Council interprets leadership in terms of number of offices
or decision-making positions a student has held in school or community
organizations. It is important to recognize that leadership
also exists outside of elected positions including effective participation in
other co-curricular activities offered on campus. Leadership
roles in both school and community may be considered, provided they can be
verified.
It can be said that students showing leaderful demonstrate:
- how resourceful they were in proposing new problems, applying principals and
making suggestions
- how they demonstrated initiative in promoting school activities
- exercising positive influence on peers in upholding school ideals
- contributing ideas that improve the civic life of the school
- how they have delegated responsibilities
- exemplify positive attitudes
- inspiration towards positive behavior in others
- academic initiative
- leadership in the classroom, at work, and in other school or community
activities
- dependability in any responsibility accepted
- a willingness to uphold scholarship and maintain a loyal school attitude
