After final summer grades are posted, early in August, the NHS advisor will determine who is eligible for the National Honor Society based on a printout of grades from the registrar. Those newly eligible students will receive a congratulatory letter indicating their eligibitly via their 2nd hour class. If you feel that you are eligible and do not receive notification, please speak to your counselor. Get a copy of your transcript and present it to Mrs. Ruthardt located in portable 1407 (directly behind the Bright Futures portable) . Eligible students will download the information packet on this website and hand it in on the date indicated. Listen and watch announcements for details.

Please note that you must have been a member of a school service club for at least one semester at the time of filling out out the information packet. You will not be considered for NHS if you join clubs at the time of filling out NHS forms.

Note*** According to the constitution, membership is NOT considered on the basis of grades alone.

After the packets are turned in, students' names are placed on a faculty evaluation form for faculty input. Students who do not turn in the packets by the deadline will not be eligible to join NHS that year. The faculty evaluation form is for teachers, counselors, and administrators to provide input regarding students' character, leadership and service. The faculty evaluation forms are reviewed by the faculty council, a group of five teachers appointed by the principal. After input and review, the students invited to join the National Honor Society are sent congratulatory letters with the date of their induction ceremony.
