My childhood and adulthood have all been spent in sunny South Florida. As a
child, Miami Beach was my home and I attended Biscayne Elementary, Nautilus
Junior High and Miami Beach Senior High Schools. I graduated from the
University of Miami with my Bachelor of Education degree (Go Canes) and
received my Masters of Science in Diagnostic Teaching and my Doctor of
Education in Curriculum and Instruction degrees from Florida International
University (Go Golden Panthers).
I am so very proud to be the Principal of Virginia A. Boone Highland Oaks
Elementary School as I have a deep personal commitment to our school. My
children were students at Highland Oaks Elementary and I volunteered my
services as a parent. I have fond memories as a member of the Highland Oaks
family then and have fond memories of my VABHOE family now.
I sincerely believe that all children are special and each and every child
deserves the very best learning experiences that we can provide. I welcome
your children and you and hope that the memories that you have from your
experiences at VABHOE will be as positive as mine were from Highland Oaks
Elementary School.
The mission of Virginia A. Boone Highland Oaks Elementary School is to
develop a sense of pride, self control, citizenship, and respect for the
safety, rights and property of every member of our multi-cultural community
while we continue to emphasize a nurturing environment in which all students
become creative problem solvers, critical thinkers, and effective
communicators in our ever-changing technological world.
