Homework

If they have rebaptized homework with the name of home learning, it is to
help us understand better the true purpose of it:
1. To help the student evaluate his/her understanding of the skills and
concepts that have been taught in class.
2. To provide the students with ample opportunities to practice those skills
and master those concepts.
3. To foster a more positive attitude towards learning by giving it a chance
to grow in the cozy home environment where the pressure of time is not so
much of an issue.
4. To instill the research based belief that doing home learning on a regular
basis helps develop a sense of responsibility.

Rules
Students are expected to:
1. Write their assignment in class, on their agenda book, on a regular basis,
the same way it is written on the board.
2. Complete their home learning assignments according to the specific
instructions that were given to them.
3. Take pride in presenting a neat assignment.
4. Turn in the assignment on the due date.
N.B. If absent, the student has the responsibility of finding out what the
home learning assignment was, what worksheet or other pertinent information
are needed to carry it out, and when it should be turned in.

Disciplinary consequences
1. The student receives a zero for every assignment that is not turned in.
2. The teacher will not receive any late assignment except if the child has
been absent.
3. Not following specific instructions may lower grades.
4. Doing the wrong assignment is like not doing the assignment at all, and
will result in the same consequences.
