How do I contact you?
1. By phone at 305.931.1770. If during school hours you can leave
a message with the office staff. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE ON
MY VOICE MAIL.
2. By email
3. In person, between 2:00 - 3:20 PM *When there are students
present, it is difficult to have a lengthy conversation with
parents. Your child's safety is very important to me. If you need
to speak with me in person, please set up an appointment to meet
with me after dismissal. I would love to give you my undivided
attention!
What if I am tardy in bringing my child to school?
Pre-K LEAP starts at 8:15 (11:30)am. Only students may enter the
building
at this time. All students must be in the classroom by 8:20am.
(11:35) If
your child is tardy, please proceed to the main office with your
child and get a tardy pass. No student will be allowed in the
classroom without a tardy pass.
What if my child is absent from school?
Upon their return to school, please send in a written note
explaining your child's absence. Only acceptable reasons will be
considered excused, (i.e. illness, doctor appointment, death in
the family, religious event).
Can I volunteer or chaperone?
Absolutely! There will be many opportunities throughout the
school year for you to be involved! In order to do so, please
complete and submit the necessary paperwork in the front office.
Due to our children's safety, all volunteers MUST complete
required paperwork before they can attend school field trips.
Does my child need to wear a school uniform?
Yes! Your child must wear uniform daily. They may wear a white,
black, or teal shirt with a school logo and black or khaki
bottoms.
I also suggest wearing comfortable shoes that your child can put
on and take off. Wearing sneakers with velcro straps or that
easily slip on will be easier and most comfortable for your
child. On Fridays, students may wear their school spirit shirt
and jeans.
What should I do if I need to relay an emegency message to the teacher?
We ask that you jot down a quick note and place it in your
child's take home folder or leave it in the main office with a
secretary. Please do not stop the teacher or paras at the
beginning of the class period or interrupt the class session as
this takes valuable time away from your child.
What should I do if I need to sign my child out early?
In order to offer your child the highest level of security, Dr.
Rubin has requested that you follow the steps below.
1st- Sign the Early Dismissal Log in the main office.
2nd- Wait for an office staff member to call your child's teacher.
3rd- Wait in the office for your child to be brought to you.
Students can only be dismissed early from the main office. It is
against school policy to dismiss students early from the
classroom.
What should I do if I would like to volunteer in the classroom?
In order to volunteer at VABHOE, you must complete the volunteer
paper work. Once you are approved through Miami-Dade County, you
will be given a volunteer number. This number must be on file at
our school site. When volunteering you must sign in at the main
office. They will give you a vistor's pass that you must wear the
entire time you are in the school building.
