Mrs. Toombs
My name is Mrs. Toombs. I have taught at Virginia A. Boone for 22 years. My
first 16 years were spent teaching in the third grade. However, I have taught
first grade for the last five years. I have also been nominated for Teacher
of the Year and have made both the ninth and tenth editions of the tome,
Who's Who in Education. In 2006, I was honored for my work in education by
the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's club,
Incorporated, as part of the South Florida Club's 28th Annual Founder's Day
celebration. I am also honored to say that I have supervised numerous Student
Interns who have gone on to become excellent teachers! One of my former
interns has also been nominated as the Teacher of the Year at her school
site! Another pride and joy of mine is working in the community serving the
less fortunate. It is my privilege to serve each month in the Miami Downtown
area. Lastly, spending time with my family on vacations and gatherings is
extremely important to me.
