Important Homework Reminders:
•Please help your children get into a regular homework routine each night.
•Homework will be posted every Friday on our class website for the upcoming
week.
•Students will record their daily subject assignments and spelling list in
their agenda books every Monday at school.
•Parents must sign the agenda book (in the parent-teacher communication box)
each night after their child has completed the homework. This is also a
great way to communicate with each other.
•Students will bring their agenda books and homework folders to school and
home everyday of the week.
•Please refer to the “First Grade Homework” sheet that is stapled on the
inside left cover of the folder. This explains the three items that are to
be completed each night: Reading Log, Spelling, and an additional subject
assignment (refer to the Agenda Book Codes).
•The weekly Reading Log is due every MONDAY. A weekly grade in Reading is
assigned to the completion of the log. One log will be sent home each
week.
•All assignments are due the following day. I will only collect work on the
day it is due, although you may complete it early and leave it inside the
folder for safe keeping.
•Spelling assignments must be done on notebook paper. A proper heading must
be on the spelling work paper. (Hint: Fold paper in half longways and write
first/last name starting in the middle of the paper at the fold on the top
blue line. Write date under name.
•Included in the homework folder is a “Daily Spelling Assignments” example
and “Spelling Tips” that you should keep for your reference.
•Late homework will only be accepted for up to 3 days, unless otherwise
excused. One point will be deducted for each day it was turned in late.
•Students will be responsible for turning in their homework each day. If it
is not turned in, it is considered late.
•Most assignments can be completed independently by your child, although it
is best practice to check and review your child’s work with them.
•Any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Ricci @ 992-6932 X175
