Summer Vacation is just around the corner but we still have a lot of exciting activities on our agenda!
Dear Parents,
The last day of school is on Thursday June 9, 2010. For each day of the last week, school will have early dismissal. You make pick up you child at 12:00 pm in the regular parent pick up area. However we still have a lot to do. Here is a list of important dates for you to remember;
The Spring Show will take place on Thursday May 20, 2010 in the afternoon. As soon as I know what time I will send home a letter.
The Art Show will take place after school on Tuesday May 25, 2010 from 3:30- 5:30 in the cafeteria.
Memorial Day is on Monday May 31, 2010 and there is NO SCHOOL for the national holiday.
Elementary Awards Ceremony will take place on Tuesday June 1, 2010 in the cafeteria. I will send home a letter telling you what time it will begin.
Everglades Field Trip will take place on Thursday June 3, 2010. We will depart at 8:45 for the Everglades and will return in time for dismissal. Remember this trip is FREE. Send your child in their Field Trip T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers. We will be using Barbara Bus Service so rest assured that all is well and safe in the realm of transportation! :)
As for the academics in my class, your child will continue to work on theories and practices of long division. They have been given a packet to work on one or two pages at a time that have been assigned. Please practice working out these problems with your children. Practice makes perfect! If your child is having difficulty with these problems, go back and review the basic multiplication facts from 1-12 times tables. In Science we are working on Hurricanes and Tornadoes this week. Your children will have a quiz on their vocabulary terms on Friday, May 14.
A Special Thanks...
I would like to thank all of the parents that came out today and helped with Career Day. Mrs. Mullings, Mr. Cruz, Mr. Estevez, and Mrs. Cuetara it was a real pleasure to have you present to our class.
Another special thanks goes out to Mr. Lopez, Ms. Marcelo, and Ms. Georgette Perez for helping with the planting of our Garden and the school beautification project. We could not have done it without you!
