I was born in Spain and moved to Miami in 1985. My love for the performing
Arts allowed me to be one of the first graduating classes of New World
School of the Arts Magnet High School. In 1996 I graduated from FIU
with a bachelor's in Foreign Language and a Minor in Dance and began teaching
Spanish as a second language in various Elementary Public Schools. Even my
Haitian students were dancing Flamenco!
In the year 2000 I completed my Masters degree in English as a second
Language and in 2002 moved to High School to begin teaching ESOL for three
years to teenagers and adults at night. I ran several clubs and put together
Musical Theater productions performed by both ESOL and regular students.
After more than 10 years teaching both English and Spanish to all ages
from Pre-Kinder to Adults I got certified in Elementary Education and began
the Bilingual Program here at MGA last year which resulted to be one of the
most exciting experiences in my career.
It is now my goal to continue to build and improve the best Bilingual Program
in South Florida. I look forward to working together with teachers and
parents, discover all of my little one's talents and have lots of fun as we
grow and learn together!
Love;
Mrs. De Francisco
As an educator it is my mission to not only teach the basic skills and
curriculum of their grade level, but to discover the unique talents and
abilities inside each one of my students. I hope to guide them and motivate
my students during this very first year in Elementary.
Last but not least It is my mission to nourish their spanish language,
culture and traditions as they learn to love and be proud of their heritage.
And of course, I will not feel complete without making sure they learn to
sing and dance their way through life!
