9th Summer Reading

This post has not yet been finalized for summer of 2010. You may consider it to be fairly accurate but you must check back for any changes.

Reading numerous novels during the summer break absolutely helps students academically in the year ahead.

CP Students:
This summer we expect all incoming ninth graders to read at least THREE books. Each student may choose books that he/she finds interesting and that are appropriate for his/her reading level. After all, reading should be an enjoyable activity.

You may be asked to answer questions about your readings at the start of the year.  It is a good idea to keep a reading log as a memory aid.

HONORS:
Your assignment is to read a minimum of FOUR books, one being non-fiction.

If you need some ideas, check out the AHS reading list posted here on Mr. Lloyd's website http://teacherweb.com/GA/Aquinas/AJLloyd/hf6.stm; or go to Amazon.com and read various reviews of popular books for teenagers; or go to the nearest library or bookstore and browse until you find something that catches your eye.
