Summer Reading Dates

BDMA's library will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from June 4th through June 21st.
Our Hours:

Tuesday 5:00-7:30
Wednesday 5:00-7:30
Thursday 10:00-12:30

Summer Reading

Important:
1. June Summer Reading is a “sit and read.” Books cannot be checked out from the BDMA library. Students who choose to read chapter books are encouraged to use the local libraries, personal access to ebooks, and personal copies of titles.
2. Students CAN quiz on their reading materials when they visit the school in June. AR quiz finder will help you determine the AR level of these books: http://www.arbookfind.com/
3. Students are recognized for being a “millionaire” within the first two weeks of school (summer reading)!
4. We ask students to read within their ZPD range. However, students are encouraged to consistently read anything and everything over the summer break.
5. June non-fiction reading and quiz taking is NOT part of the non-fiction club quest. Remind students to log all reading on their millionaire log.

Research consistently suggests how important summer reading is for student achievement. We want to encourage our students to read consistently through the summer. Please promote reading during June, July, and August. Remember, millionaire reading is any print, any level, and doesn’t have to be tested upon. Students can begin logging summer reading on Saturday, May 26th!

Feel free to contact Julie Williams, media specialist, if you have any questions or concerns. Williams.julie.v@muscogee.k12.ga.us

Lunch Money Update:

Students in Muscogee County Elementary Schools will no longer be able to charge meals in the cafeterias after May 4, 2012 for the duration of the school year. It is necessary that all outstanding charges be paid to the cafeteria manager prior to the last day of school.
