Classroom News:

5thgrade has had an awesome first semester. Our students are rising to the rigor of the teachers and realizing that they have the potential and skills to achieve great things! We are entering a busy time of the year and it can be easy to become consumed with outside activities. Please continue to stress the importance of making school and studying a priority. We are buckling down and refining our skills so that we can shine on the CRCT!

We have several exciting additions to our schedule. We will begin the SAFE program sponsored by the Sheriff’s Department. Cpl. Murray will be with us every Thursday (beginning January 26th) and will be teaching the students internet safety, saying no to peer pressure and bullying, making good decisions, and the consequences of drug use. We will continue with our monthly 4-H meetings as well. We will also have two student teachers from the University of West Georgia who will be with us this semester.

Thank you for your continued support and teamwork. It has been a pleasure working with you this year. Your reinforcement at home does make a difference! If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Also, if you would like to schedule a conference, please let your homeroom teacher know.

  •  Sign the weekly folder each Monday and return to school on Tuesday

Thanks!

Studying:

·         Studying is very important—please encourage your child to use any study guide provided.  One great way to study is simply by talking!  Ask your child what he/she learned today—make them tell you about a specific event or activity that we did.  Having them recall and discuss what we learned is a great review and it doesn’t involve any paper or pencils!
