When will the introductory lessons begin?
The kindergarten classes will come for an introductory lesson
during the first week of school.
When will the regular computer lab lessons begin?
Regular lessons will begin the second week of school.
How often will each class be scheduled for a lesson?
The regular rotation will last for four weeks, so each class will
come to one class during that rotation.
How will I know when to come to the lab?
I will notified the teachers when the final schedule is completed
with the day, time, and dates for the lessons.
What will be taught in the computer lab lessons?
I will use many of the lesson guidelines from Picasso while
working on many of the Georgia Technology Standards during the
lessons, which include basic computer skills and productivity.
Each grade's lessons will help the students integrate technology
into their curriculum. I will give each teacher a list of the
technology standard presented in the lesson. For K-3rd, I will
gear the lessons toward what the teachers are evaluating in
technology for the report cards.
Can my class come to the lab at times other than for the lessons?
Since I am only at school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays,
I will have an "Open Lab" schedule posted for Mondays and
Fridays. There will be two months available at a time, so that
all teachers have a better chance for signing up. (At the end of
each month, I will add an additional month.) Teachers may sign
up to come in to present their own lesson or to have their
students work on the computers. (If a teacher knows in advance
that their class needs to come in on a Monday or Friday for a
special project, IMI testing, etc., please let me know and I will
put it on a future month's calendar.) The wireless laptop carts
are also available for checkout through the media center.
What if a teacher has a special request for a lesson?
Just let me know. Also, if a teacher needs a suggestion for how
to integrate technology into a lesson he/she wants to teach, I'll
do what I can to help.
What if a teacher can't come for a computer lab lesson?
Please find someone who is willing to change time/day with you
and let me know. The weekly schedules will be posted on the
door, in the binder on the shelf, and on this website.
