Who can join the Art Club?

All 5th Grade students are given an Art Club Application and an 
opportunity
to try-out for Art Club.

What do you have to do to join the 5th Grade Art Club?

The Art Club Application must be completed and given to Mrs. 
Holcombe by
the date listed on the application. The process requires parental
permission and completion of an art assignment. If you are
selected, a
payment of $40.00 will be required to cover art supplies, t-
shirt, field
trips and other art club activities.

Do you have to be a good artist to be in the Art Club?

Good art skills are helpful but equally important are creativity 
and problem
solving skills and the ability to be a good team player.

When do Art Club Members meet?

Art Club is held on Thursday every other week from 2:30-4:00 pm. 
Sometimes
it will be necessary to meet every Thursday depending on the
activity we
will be working on. A separate schedule is used when we paint a
mural. A
detailed calendar will be available soon.

How do we know which activity we are going to do?

Mrs. Holcombe sends updated information by email and/or 
information is sent
home in the students weekly classroom folders.

How many kids will be selected for the 5th Grade Art Club?

Membership is limited to 16 students. A smaller group offers more 
opportunities for individualized attention and growth. A
committee of
teachers assist in this selection.

How will you know if you have been selected to join the Art Club?

Once the committee reviews all the applications, a letter will be 
sent home
to the Parents/Guardians of all the students that applied.
