Art club will not be offered after school for the year 2011-2012. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed working with our students in this way, I will be in a graduate program and will not be able to devote the time required for this voluntary, after school program. There will be art contests and other opportunities for your students to participate in and I will offer that periodically to all 5th grade students when the occcasion arises.

General Information:
Meetings will be held every other week on Thursday afternoons 2:30-4:00 in the art room
beginning date to be announced. I will email the art schedule to you each month. If you are
picking up your child, please be in the carpool area at 4 PM. Your child will be brought to ASP
at 4:10, if you are late! The registration fee is $10.00 and the cost is $7.00/day.
Students may want to bring a small snack to eat in their classroom before they come to the
meeting. It makes for a long day and they could usually use an energy boost.
Sketchbook assignments will be assigned at the end of each meeting and due at the beginning of
the next meeting. The art assignments will encourage the students to practice their skills and
exercise their creativity. The assignments will also give the students an opportunity to
discuss, compare/contrast their art styles with their peers and enable me to give them
assistance in weaker areas.
