About The Teacher

        My name is Janet Smith and I will be your first grade teacher.  I am 
thrilled to be a teacher at Cheatham Hill!  I feel this is a wonderful 
community and school. I look forward to getting to know you.  Here is a 
little information about me:   

      I have a very full life.  My baby girl was born August 1st. I have a 
loving 7-year old step-daughter, an adorable dog, a curious cat, and a new 
parakeet.  Also, I am enrolled in graduate school pursuing my master's degree 
in reading and mathematics.  When I'm not at school, I like to walk my dog, 
shop, read, and go hiking at Kennesaw Mountain.
     I've had an excellent summer, but I'm ready to get back to school.  My 
goal is to broaden the mind and brighten the day of your child everyday.  I 
feel it's an honor to be a mentor to your young son or daughter.
     This is my tenth year teaching first grade. I look forward to meeting 
your smiling faces in late September!
