Do we receive letter grades in fourth grade?
Yes, students will begin receiving letter grades this year. Papers on the
percentage breakdown were handed out at Sneak-A-Peek, and will be given out
again at
Open House.
When will I see my child's work?
I will send home a Red Friday Folder each Friday. This will contain the
returning work for the week, along with a behavior report. Please sign, and
return the folder on Monday. If the folder is not signed and returned, your
child will have to sit out during recess until the folder is returned.
Can I eat lunch with my child?
Yes, you are always welcome!
How do you celebrate birthdays in the class?
On(or near) a student's birthday, we will present them with a certificate from
the whole class, with a few pieces of candy.
If you would like to send in treats for the class, please bring them in at
lunch , and your student will be allowed to pass them out. If you can't come
in to bring them at that time, you may drop them off early, and I will keep
them in a safe place in the classroom for your student to distribute at lunch.
Please send in items that are easy to pass to individual children!
What if my child is taking hours to complete their work?
It should not take longer than 40 minutes to complete nightly assignments.
Most work is started in class. If it is taking too long, have them stop, and
put it up. Write a note to explain what happened.
If my child is absent, when should I pick up missed assignments?
If your child misses one day, let them rest. Any missed assignments will be
given to them upon their return to school. If they miss more than 2 days, you
may come in, or send a note to pick them up after school. Please let me know
when you are coming, so I can have them ready.
Students will be given plenty of time to make up assignments.
Students should always bring in a note after being absent.
When should I keep my child home from school?
Our school rules require students who have had a fever to be fever-free for 24
hours. If your child gets up and vomits, PLEASE keep them home that day. It's
not fair to them or the other children to come to school when they feel awful!
How can I reach you?
E-mail is the best method to reach me quickly. I check it several times during
the day. You can also call the office. They will get the message to me, and I
will return your call as soon as I have a free minute:)
