Dear Parents,
It has been a lot of fun the last few days to enjoy the Bio Buddys and the accompanying reports. The students have really done a very nice job on them. I know it came with your support, so thanks for your help:) We will soon be moving on to the actual battles of the American Revolution. We started talking today about West Point, and its strategic placement on the Hudson River.
In reading, we are working on informational reading, and how to understand it, and we have also been enjoying practicing on a Reader's Theater. The students are working with the CAFE plan to improve their reading skills. Math concentration has been on fractions, and we are now moving into decimals, and the relationship between the two. A recess tutoring group has been started to give extra help to those who have not yet mastered the concepts in fractions. In science, the long awaited Solar System Project has now been assigned, and the students are eagerly getting started on their projects.
As you can see, our days are packed with learning and work as we try to fit all of the curriculum in before the CRCT. I appreciate you and your willingness to help your student to do their best.
Thanks,
Lucy Caldwell
