This is my ninth year of teaching at Cheatham Hill Elementary. I
like a structured class, but I am also fair and fun. I have a passion for
history, and in the past have been part of a two-year educational grant
studying the "Seeds of Democracy" of the early United States. For three
years I was also involved in another three-year grant on the "Expanding
Frontiers of Early America". Two years ago, I traveled to Westpoint,
Gettysburg, Amish Country in Pennsylvania, and Philidelphia. I also traveled
with the grant to Wyoming and Montana. We learned about early frontier
settlement, and toured Yellowstone. The highlight of the trip was a personal
Crow Indian Pow Wow put on just for us! It was a once in a lifetime
experience! I can't wait to share with this year's class the things that I
have seen and learned! This year we are going to earn coup feathers here in
my class once again to gain the status of "chief".
I often travel to see my children and grandchildren as well. I have children
in Japan, Hawaii, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Kentucky, and one here at home in
Georgia with me.
I am the mother of eight children, and the grandmother of fifteen. I
like to paint, bike, cook, and travel.
Our class is going to strive for excellence in learning. We will always be
honest, and we will also be polite and kind to others. We will keep our
classroom neat, clean, tidy and safe. We will follow directions and listen to
our teacher. This will enable us to have a GREAT year of school, and we look
forward to learning AMAZING things!
