One of your child’s homework assignments is to read to someone or to have someone read to him (her) for 15-20 minutes each night. 

     Several times a week, I will send home a specific story or book for your child to read.  Reading group books (in the ziplock bag) are used for developing your child’s word calling skills and comprehension skills.  I hope the children will learn to love to read.  Any books sent home for reading should be returned the next school day.

     Homework folders (purple) should be checked every night.  Sometimes there will be additional homework about 1 or 2 times a week.  This should take your child approximately 15 minutes to complete.  Please have your child return this to school the next day.  Many times we will check this work together.  Good homework habits should be developed early.
