I have been teaching first grade at Cheatham Hill Elementary for the
last 13 years. I love working with the young children and usually consider
it more fun than work.
I graduated from LSU originally and am an advid Tiger Fan. Geaux
Tigers! However, since my oldest son graduated from UGA, I have been known
to cheer for the Dawgs. In earlier years, my careers were computer
programming and being a stay-at-home mom.
My husband's name is David. We have three sons: Brian (30 yrs), Jeff
(27 yrs), and Chris (22 yrs). No teenagers! Both Brian and Jeff are married
to wonderful young ladies. After raising 3 sons (no girls), I now have an
adorable granddaughter, Cami, who is 2 years old. The other member of
our family is a 1 year old puppy named Rosie. She is a rescue dog. Now
that we have rescued her... someone needs to rescue our house from her!
Besides teaching, I love boating (or should I say "floating"),
reading, golf, and gardening.
First Grade is such an important year in your child’s education. We
will be laying a foundation of literacy and math skills upon which future
learning depends. They will also be learning how to be productive students.
I hope to create an atmosphere in our classroom of acceptance that will
support each child (and their teacher) as we learn from our successes and
our mistakes. I hope your child will feel loved and look forward to coming
to school to learn.
