1.Your child will have homework sheets placed in their binder at the beginning
of every 9 weeks. Each sheet for the second nine weeks is numbered.Check your
child's agenda to know which pages to complete each night. Your child MAY work
ahead. KEEP THE SHEETS IN THE BINDER! If you must take them out,
it is your child's responsibility to make sure they are placed back in the
binder. I will check binders daily for completion of the previous night's
homework. Parents, you may assist your child with some of the questions as it
is quite possible that there are some concepts on there that we have not
covered yet in class. At the end of each nine week period, I will have the
kids take out all the completed and corrected homework sheets and send them
home. A new set will then be placed in the binder for the next 9 weeks.
2. Read for 30 minutes a night Mon-Thurs to
complete the required 25 chapter books for 4th grade. However, I am flexible
on this. Spread the time out over the entire week if that makes life easier
for you or your child. You will only log books on the reading log (located in
your child's binder) ONCE THE BOOK IS COMPLETED.
4. Look for additional Math or other homework by checking your child's agenda
and binder each night.
Parents- I don't want your child to spend more than an hour each night
completing homework. Please send me an e-mail if your child is CONSISTENTLY
struggling to complete the assigned homework in an hour or less. I don't want
homework to turn into a battle or increase stress levels at home.
