It surely was a great night at Turner Field! I was very proud of the chorus' performance! Kudos to everyone.
One of our chorus parents has put our performance on YouTube. If you are interested in seeing it, here is the link:
Enjoy!
It has been my extreme pleasure to have your children in the Cheatham Hill Chorus this year. I will miss them. Thank you for sharing them with me and for your support of the chorus and music program at Cheatham Hill.
Have an awesome summer!

Braves Tickets were distributed today. Each chorus member was given an envelope with tickets, and parking passes for those who ordered those, as well. Each student verified the contents of the envelope and was told to put them in their book bags. Please check your child's book bag tonight to make sure you get the tickets.
On Tuesday, chorus members need to report to the top of the ramp near section 129 by 6:10 PM. One parent should check their child in with a Cheatham Hill staff member. After your child is checked in, please proceed to your seat. The Braves organization would like to keep this area as clear as possible and asks that parents not stay in the area.
Each year is different. Some years parents have been allowed to gather in the seats behind the Braves' dugout to take pictures/videos. Other years they allow us in another area. If you are interested in taking pictures, please ask our guide what is acceptable for that evening.
Chorus members should report with their own ticket IN THEIR POCKET. We will ask each student to show us their ticket to make sure they have it with them. Chorus members should have NOTHING with them. Jackets, cameras, hats, anything they are given when they enter, anything they have purchased, food, etc. will need to go with parents until after we have sung.
Please be sure your child has used the restroom before you check them in at the stadium. Also, it would be very helpful if you check to make sure their Chorus T-shirts are tucked into their jeans. Jeans should be neat and should not have "bling" on them. Remember to wear a belt!
After singing, all chorus members will be taken to our seating section. No students will be allowed to drop off of the line. We ask that parents honor this to make sure we are sure ALL students are with us until they are turned over to families. After we bring them to you, you are in charge and are responsible for their behavior. However, each chorus member is representing Cheatham Hill and school rules and policies will still apply. Once everyone has been taken to our seating section, it is a family decision as to how long you will stay at the game.
We are looking forward to a fabulous night at Turner Field! See you then!!!

While we were at Turner Field last week I picked up our tickets for the game. I will be preparing the Braves tickets for the May 15th game very soon. As you know, the seats are assigned seats. I assign seats so that everyone in your party is seated together.
We already have some ticket needs due to families needing an additional ticket or two. Before I assign seats, if you have ordered a ticket you will not be able to use and would like to see if someone might like to purchase it from you, please let me know ASAP.
I can not make any promises that unused tickets will be purchased, but I will do the best I can. The first tickets "turned in" will be the first tickets used and the first tickets requested will be the first tickets sold.
I will be sending home more specific information about the game, but wanted to let you know that the Braves organization has asked us to gather at the stadium on the night of the game at 6:10 PM. I hope this will aid you in making your plans for the evening.

April 26, 2012
Tomorrow is our field trip to tour Turner Field. We will leave at 9:30. Parents who are going on the trip have a few options:
1. Ride the bus with us. Please be at the school at 9:15.
2. Follow the busses down to Turner Field (parking is free in the green lot). Please be at the school at 9:15.
3. Meet us at Turner Field (parking is free in the green lot). We will arrive between 10:15 and 10:30. Our tour is scheduled to begin at 10:30. We will gather near the entrance to the museum.
Students should have a sack lunch with everything disposable (ie: nothing to bring back). Some students have chosen to purchase a sack lunch from the lunchroom. They will pick up their lunches at 9:00. Please make sure your child's name is on their lunch bag!
Students will wear their chorus T-shirts. They can wear jeans, capris, or other school appropriate-type pants. Sneakers are suggested as we will be doing a lot of walking during the tour.
We are scheduled to return at dismissal time so students will go home as they normally do.
LAST CALL FOR TICKETS! I MUST have your ticket order BEFORE 8:00 AM as we are purchasing the tickets tomorrow when we are at the stadium.
Looking forward to a GREAT day tomorrow!

April 20, 2012
Thank you to everyone who has already submitted their Braves payments for the tour on 4/27 and for the game on 5/15.
This is a friendly reminder that payments are due on MONDAY (4/23). If you need another order form you can download one from the "forms and other documents to download" link on this website.
Thank you!

April 15, 2012
On Friday, April 27th we will be going on a field trip to tour Turner Field. We will tour the stadium and visit the museum. At the end of the tour, we will practice singing on the track in front of the dugout. We will bring sack lunches. Chorus members can bring a lunch from home or can purchase a sack lunch from the school. Parents are invited to come with us on this tour.
Your child was given an order form for the field trip and for game tickets today. I am posting a copy of the order form on the "Forms and other documents to download" in case you need another copy. Please remember that the cost of this trip was not included in your chorus dues from the beginning of the year because we don't know from year to year if we will be invited to come back.
There are two different charges on the order form - one for the field trip on 4/27 and one for game tickets for 5/15. All chorus members and their parent/designated responsible adult must purchase tickets in our block of seats. Our hope is that you will bring your family and friends to make our group even more fun in the stands!
Please notice that everyone (including me) needs to have a ticket, including chorus members. Chorus members tickets are $6; all others are $10. We are sitting in the Upper Level, where we always have sat in the past, which are great seats. I also highly recommend purchasing a parking pass.
Each ticket order MUST have an order form. This makes sure we have ordered the right number of tickets and will also make sure you get your tickets when they come to us. Order forms should be placed in the box outside the music room. Payments MUST go in the black box. The payment envelope is attached to the order form given to your child today.
If, for some reason, your child will not be able to go to the game with us, your child can still attend the tour of Turner Field.
Here's to a great night at the ballpark!

April 12, 2012
Our formal chorus picture will be taken tomorrow morning. This is the picture that will hang in the hallway for years to come!
Chorus members should wear their formal chorus outfit to school (white/navy) and bring a change of clothes to school to change into after the chorus picture. It is also the day for the fifth grade panoramic picture, so your child will probably want to bring his/her class shirt and jeans to change into after the picture. The chorus picture is first, which is why the students need to wear their chorus outfit to school. (If your child earned their black belt in Recorder Karate, they will also need to bring their black belt T-shirt because tomorrow is also our Black Belt Celebration.)
Chorus pictures are available for purchase for $15. Chorus members received payment envelopes today. If your child does not have the envelope, just put your payment in another envelope and have your child bring it to school tomorrow. Checks should be made payable to School Pictures of Georgia.
Our field trip to Turner Field is scheduled for Friday, April 27th. We will leave at 9:15 and will return in time for dismissal. This is NOT when we are singing for the Braves game. We will tour the stadium. The tour ends at the dugout, when we will line up on the track to rehearse for singing the National Anthem. After the tour, we will eat lunch on the picnic tables outside the stadium. We will be bringing sack lunches as the concession stands will NOT be open when we are touring the stadium. Parents are invited to come on this trip with us. Information about this trip, as well as ticket information for the May 15th game, where we will sing the National Anthem will be coming home very soon. I am still waiting for one bit of information.

February 4, 2012
We had a great trip to Hillgrove High School on Wednesday. We were able to hear Still and Dowell Elementary Schools, as well as the Sixth Grade Honor Chorus from Lovinggood Middle School and the Women's Chorus from Hillgrove High School. Our chorus sounded great. And the opportunity showed us just a few things we still need to work on before festival in two weeks. Thank you to the parents who chaperoned for us!
Festival is Thursday, February 16th. We will leave school at 9:15 and will return by 2:00. Chorus members should wear their FORMAL OUTFIT (white/navy) to school on the 16th. We will be traveling to Johnsons Ferry Baptist Church in East Cobb. Our performance time is 11:15 AM. Parents are especially encouraged to attend. 15 minutes before our performance time we will be in the warm-up room, so if you arrive at 11:00 you will not see us in the performance area - please don't let that concern you! After our performance, we will have a session with a clinician who will speak to the chorus about their performance and work with them a bit.
Following our performance, we will stop for lunch at a restaurant (location TBA). Lunch will be paid for, so no money is needed for the day. Parents are invited to come to lunch with us!
We have heard from the BRAVES! We will be singing the National Anthem on Tuesday evening, May 15th! Please note: All chorus members must purchase a ticket for the game. These tickets must be purchased from our block of tickets. In addition, the parent/responsible adult for each chorus member must purchase their ticket from our block of tickets. Additional tickets in our block can be purchased by chorus member families, and the hope is that you will! We have a great time in the stands, especially when we are all together! Ticket order forms will be sent home soon. Please wait to purchase you tickets until you receive the order form.
In preparation for our Braves game performance, we will be taking a field trip to Turner Field to tour the stadium. At the end of the tour, we will practice singing the National Anthem on the track in the stadium. This trip is a very valuable opportunity for us to rehearse in the venue to familiarize ourselves with the stadium and what to expect. This helps to eliminate the "deer in the headlights" possibility the night of the game. The cost for this trip is NOT included in your chorus dues for the year. When we have finalized the plans for the trip we will send home the trip information. Parents are invited to come with us on this field trip!
Festival participation marks the end of our Monday afternoon chorus rehearsals for the year. We will gather on a couple mornings prior to the May 15th game to practice singing the National Anthem.
We hope to see you on Thursday morning, February 16th at Johnsons Ferry Baptist Church for our Festival performance!

January 17, 2012
(I am having trouble getting this to space correctly. I have tried to correct it three times. I hope you are able to read this without much trouble. Sorry for the inconvenience.)
Happy New Year! I hope everyone has enjoyed a fabulous holiday season!
We are back in the swing at Cheatham Hill. We are preparing for our Festival performance, where we will sing two songs for three judges who will rate us in seven musical categories, resulting in an overall score. This is not a competition but can be better compared to a report card. In addition to our performance, the chorus members will get to hear other elementary choruses perform. For this performance, chorus members will wear their formal performance outfit (white/navy).
Festival will be held at Johnson's Ferry Baptist Church in East Cobb on Thursday, February 16th. We will be performing at 11:15 AM. Parents are encouraged to attend, if possible. We will also be looking for a few parents to chaperone. If you are available and would like to chaperone, please send me an e-mail ASAP. Following our festival performance, we will be stopping for lunch at a destination yet to be determined. In the past we have stopped at Stevi B's or CiCi's Pizza. There is no extra charge for chorus members for lunch. It is part of your chorus dues payment.
We will also sing our festival pieces at our Cluster Concert at Hillgrove High School on Thursday, February 2nd. We will board the busses at 10:30 and will be back at school about 1:30. Also in attendance for performances of their own will be Dowell and Still Elementary Schools, as well as Lovinggood Middle School and Hillgrove High School. The other elementary schools are also participating in festival. Each of us take the opportunity to comment on each other's performances to help prepare us for the upcoming performances at festival, as well as give the students the opportunity to perform for other choruses, as they will at the event. This experience also allows chorus members the opportunity to see the choral opportunities available to them as they move onto middle and high school. It is also a great time for them to "fellowship" with the students at Dowell and Still, as we will eat our sack lunches together after the performances. Many of these students will be together when they go to middle school. For this performance, chorus members will wear jeans and their chorus T-shirts.
We will NOT have chorus after school tomorrow (Wednesday, January 18th) as originally scheduled. Instead we will have sectional rehearsals Thursday, January 19th at 7:30 AM for Part 1 and Friday, January 20th at 7:30 AM for Part 2. We will practice in the music room on these mornings. We really need to learn our individual parts before putting the song together. Sectionals are the best way to begin. With the limited time we have to prepare for our next two performances, this is the best plan for moving forward.
I expect to hear from the Atlanta Braves soon. When I do, I will let you know.

December 19, 2011
Our field trip is tomorrow morning! We will leave Cheatham Hill at 9:30. PLEASE REMEMBER: we will be returning to Cheatham Hill at 3:30. Your child will have to be picked up or sent to ASP.
The students have made their lunch selections for the trip - either bring a lunch from home, buy one from school, or bring money ($5-$10 suggested) to purchase lunch there.
- If your child does not have a pocket in their performance outfit, please put their money in a zip lock baggie with their name on the bag so the chaperone can hold it for them until lunchtime.
- If your child is bringing a lunch from home, please make sure that everything is disposable - no lunch boxes, silverware, drink bottles, etc. that will need to be returned home, as it will be very difficult for everyone to keep up with it while participating in the activities.
- Any child who comes to school without a lunch from home or money to purchase lunch will need to get a sack lunch from school.
Our formal performance outfit is what we will wear for the trip (white/navy - just like we had for Dessert Theater). Students need to wear this to school in the morning. They will get their bow tie when they arrive at school.
We have 12 chaperones coming with us (thank you so much for volunteering your time!), so students will be in groups of approximately 9 students. If parents want to join us for the day, depending on how many parents choose to do this, admission is $12 ($8 if we have ten or more). This does not include our chaperone count. You will need to purchase your tickets at the same time, which would be when we first arrive.
We will be performing for the school on Wednesday morning. We will have two assemblies. Students should wear their purple shirt with blue jeans. If your child is in both chorus and recorder ensemble, they can choose which shirt they would like to wear.

December 13, 2011
I am sending a hard copy of the following information home today with each chorus and recorder ensemble member. Please check with you child to make sure you see it, as there is a lunch form that needs to be completed for our field trip, as well as a permission slip for the Recorder Ensemble (chorus has already turned in the permission slip). This permission slip is for the school, not the one everyone had to complete for the venue for our trip. Both of these forms are also available on the "forms and other documents to download" link on this website. Also included are payment envelopes for anyone who still owes money for chorus and/or recorder ensemble. We really need to collect all monies before the holidays.

though this information is not being received, because of the number of
repeated questions I am receiving. If
you are not receiving my updates, please go to my webpage, select either chorus
or recorder ensemble, go to the bottom of the page, and click on the subscribe
to newsflash button. You will be
prompted to enter your e-mail or phone information. And if ever you need information about chorus

FIELD TRIP ON
DECEMBER 20TH
We are going on
our field trip to Christmas on Peachtree (formerly known as Festival of Trees) next
Tuesday (December 20th). We
are leaving at 9:30 and will not return until 3:30, which is after
dismissal. Parents should plan to pick
up at 3:30. Students who are not picked
up by 3:40 will be checked into ASP for a $7 charge (and a $10 registration
charge if your child has not been in ASP yet this year). Of course, students who are to go to ASP will
be checked into ASP upon our return.
Chorus and
Recorder Ensemble members should wear their formal performance outfit (navy/white – just like what they wore for
Dessert Theater) to school on the 20th.
You will find a
lunch form attached. I need these
returned by Thursday (12/15) so we will know how many school lunches may be
needed for our trip. Students will be
given the option to purchase their lunch while we are on the trip. At this moment, I don’t know exactly what
kinds of food will be available (I have heard Chic-Fil-A is there) so I am
making a suggestion of $10, just to be sure.
UPDATE: I just got word from the venue about lunch: As for what's availanle, we have Chik-Fil-A, Nathan's Hot Dogs, and Rising Roll, so figure cost will be between $5. - $10., we also have some other adult type foods available, but that starts at $7.00, not including drinks.
Parents are
invited to chaperone. However, there
will be a charge for your entry (chorus and recorder ensemble get in
free). If we have ten or more parents,
the charge is $8. Chaperones will be
given a group of students for the day, so we will need for you to stay with us
for the whole trip. You can purchase
your tickets at the window, but they need to be purchased as a group. If you are interested in going on this fun
trip with us, please send me an e-mail.
PERMISSION SLIPS FOR
RECORDER ENSEMBLE
Everyone going on
this trip has already completed a release for the venue. These have already been sent ahead. Students will only be allowed to enter if
they have a release on file (and they will take role!). However, Recorder Ensemble does not have
signed permission slips for the school (chorus already has signed permission
slips). Please sign the form and return
it to school by Thursday (12/15).
Students who don’t have a signed permission slip will not be allowed to
leave school for the trip. If you need
another copy of the permission slip, you can download one from the “forms and
other documents to download” link on my webpage.
CHORUS AND RECORDER
ENSEMBLE TO PERFORM FOR SCHOOL
The day after our trip (Wednesday, 12/21),
we will be presenting an assembly for the school. Students should wear their purple shirts and
jeans to school (if your child is in both groups, they can choose which shirt
they will wear). Santa hats, elf hats,
or reindeer antlers are optional.
GENTLE REMINDER
Chorus and
Recorder Ensemble is a fee-based activity.
We have already spent money for these programs, which already has
included our T-shirts, Dessert Theater, music, and our field trip, just to
mention a few. If you have a balance,
you are receiving a payment envelope.
Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. If you believe you have already paid and are
being asked to pay again, please let me know so I can check with our
bookkeeper. Thank you.

December 9, 2011
In honor of work very well done at Dessert Theater, the chorus will take Monday off. There will be no chorus rehearsal on Monday (12/12) after school.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to EVERYONE who made Dessert Theater a great success! Our custodians have asked that we especially thank the families that helped return the tables to the classrooms. This really helped them out a lot!
Please remember to e-mail me if you are interested in going with us on our field trip to Christmas on Peachtree on Tuesday, December 20th.

December 5, 2011
I have been getting a lot of questions from students about Dessert Theater. PLEASE read this information very carefully so everyone will know what is going on.
Tomorrow night is Dessert Theater at Cheatham Hill Elementary School.
- Doors open at 6:30 pm for families to come fill their plates with desserts and get settled for the program, which will begin at 7:00 pm.
- Chorus and Recorder Ensemble members should report to the gym at 6:40 pm in their FORMAL performance outfit (please see above).
- All of the reserved tables have been purchased. However, THERE WILL BE FREE SEATING AVAILABLE FOR EVERYONE ELSE.
- Each family should provide a dessert for the dessert table and should be brought to school in the morning. Beverages and paper products are provided. However, if your dessert requires a fork or spoon, please provide them.
Decorating for Dessert Theater will begin tomorrow afternoon at 2:15. I am very concerned because I have heard from very, very few about volunteering to help decorate tomorrow. Without volunteers to help decorate, we will not be ready for our program tomorrow evening. We are also in need of pine and holly branches for decorating. If you can provide pine or holly sprigs and/or can help decorate, please e-mail me to let me know you will be there.
The chorus and recorder ensemble will be performing one song together at Dessert Theater. We will have a practice tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM in the lunchroom.
Thank you!

November 28, 2011
We had a great chorus rehearsal yesterday! It's hard to believe that Dessert Theater is just one week away!
Yesterday I gave all chorus members a form for our field trip that MUST be completed and returned FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. The Christmas on Peachtree organization requires these forms be completed and returned to them ASAP. It is my understanding that they will create a roster from these forms and will only allow students to enter the venue if they have a signed release in their possession. Most everyone returned them by this morning - GREAT JOB! There are still a few that have not returned them. I have given each of these students a second form today, just in case you can't locate the one I gave them yesterday. If you can't find either, I have also put the form on the "Forms and other documents to download" link on this website. If you download one, for the organization line, please write "Cheatham Hill Elementary 5th Grade Chorus." If your child is in chorus AND recorder ensemble, I need a separate form for each, so please make sure you have signed two forms.
Tomorrow morning is the chorus yearbook picture. Your child should wear their chorus T-shirt and blue jeans for this picture. It will be taken first thing in the morning so they should wear this to school.
Table reservations are going fast. With only two days of receiving reservations and more than half of the tables are gone. If you are interested in reserving a table, please download the reservation form from the "Forms and other documents to download" link on this website. First come, first served. Please note that there will be seating for ALL guests, but the tables down front are by reservation only.
Please remember that Monday is another critical rehearsal for chorus. The chorus will also gather at 7:30 Tuesday morning in the lunchroom to practice the song they will be performing with the recorder ensemble.
Each family is asked to provide a dessert for the dessert buffet for Dessert Theater. Desserts should be brought in Tuesday morning. Beverages and paper products will be provided. However, if your dessert requires an eating utensil (fork, spoon) we ask that you please provide them. Be sure your name is on any plate or other container so you will be sure to get it back.
We will be decorating the lunchroom for Dessert Theater at 2:15 on Tuesday afternoon. We are looking for volunteers to help us decorate. If you can help, PLEASE send me an e-mail to let me know you can help. Many hands make light work! We will also need some pine and holly branches for decorating. If you can donate these items, please let me know.
Dessert Theater will begin at 7:00 PM on Tuesday evening, December 6th. Doors will open at 6:30 PM for families to begin going through the dessert line. Chorus and Recorder Ensemble members will meet in the gym at 6:40 PM.
Our road trip to Christmas on Peachtree is Tuesday, December 20th. We will leave school at 9:30 and will not be back until 3:30. We will eat lunch while we are there. Students will have the option to bring money to buy lunch while we are there or to bring a lunch from home or school. We are still looking for parents who would like to come with us on this field trip. If you are interested, please let me know. There will probably be a charge for your admission, but it will be a discounted price. I am waiting for the packet of information to arrive that should include the cost.

November 17, 2011
Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone of you! I am thankful that you have allowed your child the opportunity to participate in chorus this year!
Just a few updates and reminders:
We only have two chorus rehearsals left before Dessert Theater. Please remember that two rehearsals prior to a performance are considered "critical rehearsals." Students who are present at school on rehearsal days MUST attend these rehearsals to continue with chorus.
In the "Forms and Other Documents to Download" link on this webpage you can download a reservation form for reserving a table at Dessert Theater. There are a limited number of reserved tables. Tables are reserved as whole tables (seating or 8) for $25. Payments will be accepted as long as table space is available. Please read the directions on the form very carefully. Forms will also be given out at school tomorrow (Friday, 11/18).
I am still waiting on information for our trip on December 20th. As soon as I hear, I will let you know. In the mean time, if you know you would like to go with us, please e-mail me your intentions.
I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving week!

November 13, 2011
Reminder - tomorrow is auditions for solo and small group acts for Dessert Theater. Auditions will be held immediately following chorus rehearsal. Acts should be a holiday theme, unless specific approval has been given by Mrs. Grayburn. Acts should be audience ready (including costumes, if they are to be used) and should be no longer than two minutes (unless specific approval has been given by Mrs. Grayburn). Students are permitted to audition for as many acts as they would like, but they must keep in mind that not all acts may be selected. Auditions will be held in the lunchroom. Please pick up your child there, unless they are going to ASP. If they are going to ASP they will be dismissed to ASP as soon as their audition is done.
We have scheduled our Road Trip for Tuesday, December 20th. We are going to what was formerly known as Festival of Trees in Atlanta. We will leave school at 9:30 and return at 3:30. Please note this is past dismissal time so students will need to be picked up or sent to ASP. Parents interested in attending with us will get a reduced admission rate. I will let you know the particulars when I receive additional information. This is an exciting opportunity! We will perform and get to participate in the activities!
If you are interested in reserved tables for Dessert Theater, information for these tables will be coming home soon. Get your reservation in quickly, as these tables go fast!
As part of the Dessert Theater evening, families bring a dessert to share on the dessert buffet table. Be thinking of what you might like to share with us! Dessert Theater is Tuesday evening, December 6th at the school.

BRAVO! The chorus did a fabulous job singing the National Anthem for the principals and administrators of Cobb County at KSU. I was very proud and pleased. The chorus members behaved very well and looked so professional. No one would ever have known this was our first performance!
Thank you to Mrs. Breazeale, Mrs, Gibides, Mrs. Owen, Mrs. Pilcher, and Mrs. Turner for chaperoning our trip. We could not have done it without you!
Please remember there will be no chorus rehearsal next Monday because it is conference week.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
October 11, 2011
GREAT NEWS! Our chorus has been asked to open the Administrator's Conference at KSU with the singing on the National Anthem. As my music supervisor said, this is a big deal. We will be singing at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, October 18th. Therefore, we MUST leave Cheatham Hill PROMPTLY at 7:30 AM to make sure we are there on time. Please adjust your transportation accordingly. Students who ride busses that arrive before 7:25 should be ok to ride the bus. I expect we will be back at school by 9:30.
Chorus members should wear their chorus T-shirt (they are coming very soon) with neat blue jeans (no holes, please), belt, and sneakers.
We need four parents who will be able to chaperone this trip. If you are interested, please e-mail me. Thank you!
Chorus rehearsals have been going very well! We have put two part music together already - WOW! We are working on our repertoire for Dessert Theater. Please make sure you have your calendar marked for Tuesday evening, December 6th. More information will be coming as we get closer to the event.
Chorus dues are past due. If you still have a balance, I will be sending home a payment envelope for you to submit your final payment.
Reminder about formal chorus performance outfit, especially girls: It would be a good idea to make sure you have all parts of the formal outfit as soon as possible. Navy skirts are typically sold at the beginning of the school year, but may have to be ordered at this point in the calendar.
Reminder - there will be no chorus rehearsal on Monday, October 24th due to Conference Week.
September 7, 2011
Families of GIRL chorus members: Are you looking for the skirt and blouse for the formal chorus outfit? At this time of year, stores that sell school uniforms may have the navy pleated skirts on sale. The skirt can be pleated all around or partially pleated. You can also use a scooter shirt/skort, as long as it looks like a skirt from the front. Stores that have had these in previous years are Target, Walmart, JC Penney, and Burlington Coat Factory. There are also places to purchase them on line.
Right now JCPenney.com has uniform skirts on sale, including:
Izod pleated skirt - on sale - $14.99
Izod pleated scooter skirt - on sale - $14.99
French Toast pleated skirt - on sale - $12.99
Boys white dress shirts will work well for the girls to wear (they don't have to share that it is a boy's shirt, if they don't want to!). But if you are looking specifically for a girl's long sleeved oxford blouse, I have located the following:
Frenchtoast.com - $10.98
Kmart.com (carries the French Toast brand) - $10.00
JCPenney.com - on sale - $10.99
schooluniforms.com - $18.99
Landsend.com - $24.50
I hope this helps!
