About The Teacher

My name is Adrienne Taylor. This is my sixth year teaching Kindergarten at
Cheatham Hill. I taught first grade at Vaughan Elementary for three years
before coming here. Previously, I taught first grade in a suburb of Chicago.

I received my undergraduate degree from Lake Forest College, located in Lake
Forest, Illinois. My undergraduate degree was a B.A. degree in business. I
worked for a major Chicago law firm for several years before making one of
the greatest decisions in my life: going back to school to get my Masters
degree in Early Childhood Education. I went back to school full time and
waited tables to support myself and my dog, Freckles. Once I graduated from
National Louis University I began teaching first grade at Lions Park
Elementary, in Mount Prospect, Illinois.

I grew up outside of Chicago in a suburb called Northfield. I met my
husband after I was out of college. We were married in 1992 and had our
first child in 1994. I took some time away from teaching so I could be at
home with our daughter, Emma. She is a Senior at Harrison High School
this year. When Emma turned one we decided to relocate our family from
Chicago to Powder Springs; the weather is much nicer here! Our son, Colin,
was born in 1997 and he is a freshman at Harrison High School. We also have
a Golden Retriever named Ella.

When my son is not playing football with the Harrison Hoyas or my daughter
is not cheerleading at the Stingray Gym and Harrison, I like to run, read and
look for children’s books to use in the classroom.

I’m looking forward to an awesome year!

Mission For The Class

My mission for the classroom is for all students to achieve to their fullest
potential throughout the year. A positive learning environment is created
in the classroom so students will feel safe to explore and learn. I believe
all students can be successful in a positive environment.
