Hello, Hello!
I am ready for another SUPER year at Cheatham! This is my 19th year of
teaching. I am originally from Long Island, New York where I taught 5th
grade for 9 years. My family and I relocated to Marietta in 2002 and I
taught at Sanders Intermediate for 5 years; 3 years in 3rd grade and
2 years in 4th grade. This is my fifth year at Cheatham Hill in the 5th
grade.
My husband's name is Bennie Wilkerson and he is the school Social Worker at
North Cobb High School and Awtry Middle School and the Assistant Minister at
the congregation we attend. We have been married for 19 years and soon to be
20 years in October. My 2 boys' names are Alexander(16) and Nicholas(15).
They attend Marietta High School and are great students! Alex is in 11th
grade and plays Varsity football and Nick is in 10th grade and plays JV
Basketball this year! We are all very active in church and in our community.
Family is very important to me!
My philosophy about teaching is that teaching is more than just coming to
school and educating children from an academic perspective. It entails
getting to know them, understanding them, and most of all loving them,
regardless of who they are and where they come from.
My favorite quotes are "Good is not enough when better is possible!"
And "All children can learn, just not at the same time and not in the same
way."
