I have lived on the same street in the Cheatham Hill Community since I was
in the fourth grade. After graduating from North Cobb High School, I went
to West Georgia College where I received a degree in Mass Communications
(radio and televisions production). One Summer while working at a
daycare center, I realized that I had failed to follow my heart. I then
enrolled at Kennesaw State University to get a degree in teaching; after
five years of teaching I went back to Kennesaw and got a master's degree. I also went to Lincoln Memorial University where I earned a education specialists degree. I
started teaching in Cobb County in 1999. I taught second grade for 7 years,
and Kindergarten for 1 year. I was so inspired by all of the fun and
excitement my son was having at Cheatham Hill that I decided to try it
myself. I have been teaching at CHES since 2007 I am very excited about
having the opportunity to teach in the community in which I have grown up!!!
I have two sons: Dawson is in 6th grade at Lovinggood, and Allen is in 4th grade here at Cheatham Hill. I also have a 6-year-old daughter (long-haired Chihuahua)
named Emma. I stay very busy running my boys around town, and volunteering
at my church. When I do have some down time, my favorite thing to do is READ
historical fiction. I also like scrapbooking, cross-stitching and playing
Scrabble.
