Happy Thanksgiving Season,
Book Character Day was a huge success!! The students all looked fantastic and
we had a fabulous day. Thank you for all of your hard work to help make the
day great.
Tuesday will be our Thanksgiving feast. All students will be eating lunch
that day at 11:00. Students may dress as pilgrims, indians or turkeys. The
high school students do this for us every year and it is always much fun.
All of the letters have finally been introduced in our Phonics lessons. The
students are working mostly on short vowel sounds like /a/ in apple and
adding a consonant to form a blend then a word. We have been introduced
to /ck/ and double ending consonants like ll in well. Math time has been
focusing on the identification of 0-10, meaningful counting with those
numbers, more and less concept, numerical order and a small amount of
graphing. Bible lessons are focusing on God being faithful like with Daniel
and Jonah. In science, we continue learning about fall leaves. We have
begun our next read aloud book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Social
Studies covers the first Thanksgiving.
Our next field trip is coming up soon. We are going to see "The Best
Christmas Pageant Ever" in Chattanooga. It is Dec. 11th. We will be leaving
about 8:30 and returning by lunch. The students have made t-shirts to wear
that day thanks to Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Staten. More information about all of
that later.
Thank you for sending in the items for the soldier boxes. Monday, Nov. 23rd
id the last day for collections. Please remember to pray for our military.
If you have questions of any kind please feel free to contact me.
Thanks!
