About The Teacher

Hello!  Welcome to my classroom and sixth grade at Columbia Middle 

I received my BA from Augusta State University December 1999, my Masters 
in Education in December 2004, and my E.D.S in Leadership December 2008, and 
my Gifted certification June 2009. I began teaching at the beginning of the 
2000-2001 school year as a 5th grade teacher in Richmond County.  In 2001 I 
came to Columbia Middle to teach Language Arts and Social Studies and I've 
been here ever since. This is my 11th year teaching Mathematics.    

Here at Columbia Middle, I've helped sponsor activities or participated in 
the following activities at CMS: CMS Step team, boys and girls basketballl 
team score keeper, after school programs,etc.  

I enjoy bowling, aerobics, traveling, going to amusement parks, playing 
basketball, and most activities that are competitive.

OK, enough about me.  Here's the important information that you should be 
aware of regarding the upcoming school year.

Mission For The Class

My mission and goal is to help my students become life-long, active learners 
in all aspects of their lives.  I want to motivate students to enjoy 
learning by creating a fun and relaxing classroom atmosphere.  I hope to 
help students become the best person they can be by helping them to become 
responsible, self-disciplined people, and good citizens in the community. 

I use this forum to post student information, parent information, math 
newsletters, school news, and more.  If you have access to the Internet, 
this page is the place to go to get information about our math classroom and 
math-related web sites.  All pertinent letters sent home from my classroom 
would be posted on my webpage.  No more letters not making it home!
