Procedures For Computer Lab—Room 303
8 It is very important that the computers and screens stay in good working condition. Changing the desktop, screen saver, background, etc., causes problems with the software and the speed of the computer. Therefore, your teacher is requesting that you make no changes to any settings on your computer.
8 In order to use the Internet, you must have written permission from your parent(s). Also, you must have the express permission of the teacher each time you use it.
8 Since viruses are very common in large labs, a student without the expressed permission of the teacher will add no additional software. This includes games!
Please read the following guidelines:
< I agree that I will not eat, chew gum, or drink around the computers in this lab.
< Cell phones should be not be seen or used while in the lab. If a cell phone is visible and/or heard, it will be taken and turned in to the office. A parent will need to retrieve it. Note: If an emergency phone call needs to be made, a land line phone is available in the lab.
< I agree that I will not change any settings on the monitor, software, keyboard, CPU, etc. That includes the screen saver, desktop, size of icons, background, colors, etc.
< If I have my parents’ permission, I will use the Internet only if my teacher gives me permission each time I use it.
< I will refrain from viewing any materials on the Internet that is not appropriate educational material, especially material of any sexual or vulgar nature or anything using foul language.
< I will not print anything without my teacher’s permission.
< GAMES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE PLAYED DURING CLASS TIME. Also, when the Internet is not used for class purposes, you are off task. If you are off task at any time, you will receive a “0” grade for that day’s work.
< NO INTERNET CHATTING IS ALLOWED AT ANYTIME.
< I understand that I am not allowed to listen to any music (CDs, Headsets, Music from Internet) at any time while I am in the lab.
< Do not expect to leave the room immediately upon entering, to use the restroom. Restroom passes may not be used for the first or last 30 minutes of class.
< Before anyone can leave the room, all papers must be removed from the desk and floor. Each person is responsible for his/her desk and surrounding area. All keying will be stopped approximately five minutes before the bell rings each day so that each student will be able to put all his/her materials away.
< After all materials have been put away, everyone is to remain seated until the last bell.
< I understand that if I do not adhere to the above regulations, disciplinary actions will follow.
