How will I know what's going on at school?

We will communicate daily through your child's binder. You will
receive class and school newsletters and important reminders
often. Please check your child's binder daily.

What is the FISH binder?

The FISH Binder (Family Involvement Starts Here), is an
organizational system incorporated into a binder. It consists of
a pocket for Newsletters and Memos; a zippered pouch for Money
and Important Notes such as absence excuses; a Notes section,
where we can communicate back and forth; a Keep at Home section,
for super work; a Class List; and the ABC's of Pre K Parent
Handbook. This system instills responsibility and keeps
everything in one handy location. Please have your child bring
it to school everyday, and check it each night for newsletters
and important reminders.

What about birthdays?

Birthdays are a very big deal to little ones. We celebrate all
birthdays. You may bring in a cake/cupcakes, juice pouches, etc.
to be enjoyed during lunch or our scheduled snack time.

What about party invitations? Will you send them home for me?

We will ONLY send invitations home if every child is invited, or
if all the boys or all the girls are invited. We don't want any
hurt feelings!

What if I need someone different to pick my child up from school?

This must be sent to me IN WRITING. If it is a last minute
emergency, you may call or fax the note to school. Remember,
your child will be released ONLY to those individuals you listed
on the registration form, unless you send in written notification
of the change. Any new person picking up should be prepared to
show identification.

What if my child is sick?

Please do not send your child to school if he/she is not feeling
well. Keep them at home, and send in a written excuse when your
child returns. You have 3 days to send this in. Even if you
call the school or email me as to why your child is absent, you
must still send in a written excuse, as we have to turn it in to
the office for documentation.

What will my child learn?

Pre K children learn SO much! Check out the 'Links' page for the
link to 'Georgia Pre K.' Go to 'Content Standards' on the
website to find our curriculum. These are the standards we will
focus on this school year, through the use of hands on thematic
units of study.

Can I visit my child at school?

Absolutely! We love visitors. You may want to eat lunch with
your child, or come read to the class. You may also want to
share a special craft activity, or family tradition. You are
welcome anytime, just please let us know a day or so in advance,
so we can be prepared for you. We do ask that when you
come in, you spend time interacting with your child and his/her
classmates. Remember - the most important thing you can spend on
your child - is time.
