Dear Parents,
Homework is very important in first grade. It reinforces what
we are teaching in the classroom. It is very important that
your child completes his/her homework each week. Please realize
that your child may require some help. Also, please check your
child's homework before it is turned in on Friday. Homework
that is not done correctly or is not complete will be sent back home
to be corrected/finished.
Homework will be sent home in the Eagle Eye Binder on
Monday and it is due back by Friday. Students are expected to
place their homework in the Eagle Eye Binder when it is
completed. Homework is collected on Thursday. Please keep
the Spelling and Sight Word List. You will need this to help your child
study throughout the school year. The Reading Log is part of the your
child's homework. Please fill in the name of the book when it is
completed. If it is a chapter book please write "chapter" beside the
entry. Your child should be reading a minimum of ten minutes each night.
