When do you go outside?

We go out the entire year. We do not go out in rain...(though fun warm rain
shower days would be fun, fun, fun! In the hot months, we go out in the a.m. In the cooler months, in the p.m.

What about discipline?

We follow the positive discipline model and I'm so interested in the responsive classroom model. I want to use a good combination of the two. I do not use a 'daily report'...red light green light program. I want the children to learn how to manage their behavior. Do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. And, I don't want children to think I have to tell them they had a good day...they will learn to monitor themselves!

How often do you visit the media center?

As a class, about once a month. After the children start checking out books..hopefully small groups
can visit once a week. Later, media passes may allow children to visit during literacy/exploratory center
times.
