I was born and raised in Indiana, the third oldest of ten children. My
father decorated and painted churches, and as a young child I loved to watch
him paint statues with the airbrush and borrow his art materials and building
supplies. Ever since I can remember, I loved art. When I was in school, we
didn't have an art teacher, but on Friday afternoons my teacher would teach
art. I loved Fridays! I went to college at Southern Illinois University at
Edwardsville. I moved to Georgia after graduation because my older sister
had just moved here. I started teaching at Pine Mountain Middle School and
then came to East Side in 1984. I am SO EXCITED to have a NEW ART ROOM! As
soon as everything is complete, I will give everyone the "Grand Tour"! I love
teaching art and love
kid's art work! I also teach summer art camps at Kennesaw State University
Continuing Education. I was married in 1998 to a wonderful man and talented
contractor, Ron. I don't know what I would do without him. He helps me so
much with the student's projects!
