To Do

_ Complete registration and return any forms requested

__ Get all recommended immunizations, health assessment...to complete records

__ Read and review the Kindergarten handbook, and materials given to you

__ Obtain necessary supplies

__ Meet the teachers, and continue to keep a positive line of communication open
_ Tour the school and become familiar with traffic flow/parking area

__ Help your child memorize your home phone, work phone, and home address

__ Arrange transportation, designate a safe meeting spot, and practice the routine

__ If walking, walk your child to and from school a few times

__ If carpooling, introduce your child to all carpool drivers

__ If riding the bus, determine times and bus stops-practice bus number

__ Arrange for daycare

__ Plan a menu for any packed lunches, and school snacks

__ Establish a homework location and schedule

__ Prepare a school calendar of all important events

__ Prepare your child for the first day by reassuring and talking with them

__ Go through the night before routine (have everything ready) and make sure to get plenty of rest

__ Get up early enough to ensure a smooth start, avoid rushing

__ Slip a note or photo into your child’s bag, for reassurance on their first day J

__ Complete and return all information forms in the Kindergarten Handbook

__ Start collecting Box Tops for Education labels

__ Read to/with your child every night
